Description

Learn how to become a ScrumMaster and the tools needed to successfully implement Scrum into any project.

Prerequisite

It is beneficial to have some knowledge of Scrum leading up to class. Please visit both www.scrumguides.org  and   www.scrumtrainingseries.com prior to the class.

Course Material

Participants will receive printed and bounded material on the first day of class. The material will be in English. The material will be enhanced by slides, videos and pictures that the trainer will find valuable during class.

Being a ScrumMaster can look like a trivial challenge, but it demands a lot of skill. Anyone starting the journey to transform an organization and implement Scrum will face many challenges and impediments along their way. ScrumMasters must be skilled and willing to invoke "The Art of the Possible" to take on these challenges.

Goal

Each individual is trained to be able to assume the following responsibilities:

  • Remove the barriers between development and business (ProductOwner) so the business directly drives development
  • Teach the business how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum
  • Improve the lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and empowerment
  • Improve the productivity of the development team in any way possible
  • Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable

Training

The training is done with several exercises. Be prepared to do hard work. The training will give you the feeling of Scrum itself. The first day is dedicated to the Philosophy and Meaning of Scrum. The second day focuses on the Tools and the How of Scrum. Using anecdotes and experience, teaching the Scrum framework, you will learn how to use it to be an effective Scrum participant.

Certification

Upon completion of the course, you will be eligible to take the Certified ScrumMaster® online exam, provided by Scrum Alliance. Time will be allocated at the end of the course to complete the exam.

Venue

Class is near the heart of Santa Monica, blocks from the famous Santa Monica Pier.
