Certified ScrumMaster® Training

This Certified ScrumMaster® training course is a two-day interactive experience that provides learners with an understanding of Agile principles. Learners will become a Certified ScrumMaster® upon completing this two day course and an online exam (time may be allotted at the conclusion of the course to complete the exam).

Richard Cheng is a principal consultant at Excella Consulting, providing consulting services to commercial and Federal clients in the Washington, DC area for the past 15 years. Richard trains, coaches and mentors clients in understanding and implementing Agile and Scrum. 

A graduate of Virginia Tech, Richard has authored several publications on project management, presented at Agile and PMI sponsored industry events around the world, and is a member of Mensa. In addition to Richard’s Scrum Alliance certifications, Richard is a Certified LeSS Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and SAFe Program Consultant (SPC). Richard is a founder and on the executive committee of the Agile Delivery for Agencies, Programs, and Teams (ADAPT), an Agile government task force.

Sherman Gomberg founded Scrum Adventures as an opportunity to enrich others. Sherman has over 25 years of experience with SCRUM, AGILE and PROJECT MANAGEMENT while providing COACHING and CONSULTING services for various industries. Sherman is CSM, A-CSM, CSPO, CSD, CSP-SM, CSP-PO, ICP-ACC, Training from the BACK of the Room, PMP certified, and holds a BS in Computer Science. He is passionate about training those so they can help others.

Prerequisite

It is beneficial to have some knowledge about Scrum and it is expected for you to have read the “Scrum Guide” on www.scrumguides.org prior to class.

  • Empirical Process - inspect, adapt with tranparency

  • User Story and Epics - making them valuable

  • Product Backlog - what do we want to do

  • Definition of Ready - what can the team commit to

  • Prioritization - how do we get started, in what order

  • Release Planning - valuable shippable product

  • Story Points - estimate with fun

  • Working Agreement - disruptive self-organized groups

  • Definition of Done - yes, it’s shippable

  • Sprint Planning - making team commitment

  • Sprint Backlog - working the team commitment

  • Sprint Burndown - how are we doing

  • Daily Scrum - sharing commitments and impediments

  • Sprint Review - show off / demonstration

  • Retrospective - making improvements

  • Product Shipment - it’s all about the product

Certification

In order to certify you will have to conduct an online test.
